App Modes
Pace.Me has three app modes: Pacing, Practice, and Conversation.
The Pacing board is meant for day to day use when you are speaking and want to pace your conversation.
The Practice board is meant for practicing speaking using a variety of practice sentences. It is ideal for practicing while alone.
The Conversation board is another board meant for practicing. It uses a variety of conversation sentences that are ideal for practicing speaking while with someone.
Board Types
Pace.Me offers 6 board types on tablets and 5 board types on mobile devices. The available board types are: 2 Panel, 3 Panel, 4 Panel (only on tablets), Alphabetical, QWERTY, and Random.
The panel boards display 2, 3, or 4 panels. The panels display different colors and each has an icon. Whenever an icon is displayed, that panel is active and can be tapped. Initially, all panels are active. After a panel is tapped, it is no longer active and one of the other panels becomes active. Tapping a panel provides a visual and auditory feedback. And on supported mobile devices, a haptic feedback is provided if specified in the settings.
The letter boards display a total of 30 panels arranged in a 6x5 grid. If a letter panel is active, it is display as a solid color, whereas, inactive letter panels are displayed as a grayed color. Blank letter panels are active and provided when the sentence contains a blank space where you are supposed to fill in the blank with your own word. Letter panels also provide visual, auditory and haptic feedback. In the Practice mode, only one letter panel is active at a time. The active letter panel corresponds with the first letter of the current word (or syllable) in the sentence display area. In the Pacing and Conversation modes, all letter panels are always active.
Sentence Display
The sentence display area shows the current sentence (or syllable). It also has previous and next buttons for navigating the sentences. The previous button is disabled if the current sentence is the first. The next button is disabled if the current sentence is the last.
Pro tip: Double tapping the sentence resets the current word to the first.
Info Display
The Pace.Me info panel displays the current sentence set name and category. It also displays the number of the current sentence relative to the total number of sentences in the set.
